Summary

The Spanish Armada has entered into English waters amidst the Anglo-Spanish War. Queen Elizabeth has recruited pirates to join her fight against Spain. One of the pirate lords, called Oliver Thorpe, has been summoned by the Queen back to England from his conquest in Madagascar.

One foggy day, Oliver’s ship happens upon a lone spanish ship in Madagascar waters. He and his crew attack the craft and kill all the Soldados de Cuera (leather soldiers) of the King and loot the ship. What they also find aboard is a strange wooden chest. They soon realize that this is no ordinary chest, but one that if opened, can unleash a force that could dominate the high seas.
